Judgment-Free Cannabis Doctor Evaluations

Icon

It is our mission to advocate for medical cannabis patients and to assist prospective applicants in navigating the registration process in their respective states. We offer our services to residents of multiple states applying for medical marijuana programs, including Missouri.

Arkansas has authorized the use of telemedicine to certify patients for medical marijuana cards. At the Sanctuary, our staff members are available to schedule a virtual appointment for you with one of our doctors. You do not need to have a prior doctor's evaluation to meet with our licensed physicians.

During your appointment, your doctor will evaluate your condition and determine if you meet the state’s requirements for medical marijuana use. If your physician believes you would benefit from marijuana use, they will submit a certificate to the Pennsylvania DHSS as soon as possible. Once your information is in the system, you can continue the application process on the DHSS website.

Simply call us at 484-346-5140 to arrange a virtual meeting with a physician.

Forms

There are a few forms that you will need to fill out in order to get your medical marijuana card in Missouri. The first form is the Patient Registration form, which you can find on the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services website. You will need to provide your name, date of birth, address, and social security number on this form.

The second form is the Physician Certification form. This form must be completed by a licensed physician in Missouri. The physician will certify that you have a qualifying medical condition and that medical marijuana would be beneficial for treating that condition.

You can find both of these forms online at the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services website.

Register

To register, you will need to provide:

  • A completed application form
  • Proof of your identity (e.g., driver's license, US passport)
  • A Missouri state ID (if you have one)
  • Your Social Security number (you can file without this if you are not eligible for one; substitute with 2 pieces of ID as noted above)
  • A signed physician certification
  • Proof of residency in Missouri
  • Your email address for confirmation

Application

The process for obtaining a Missouri medical marijuana card starts with an application. This application will need to be completed and sent to the Department of Health and Senior Services.

You will also need to provide two forms of identification, such as a driver's license or passport, along with your social security number. The applicant should then expect an approval or denial notification within 3-4 months.

About Medical Marijuana

Missouri Medical Marijuana Card Requirements

Marijuana is now legal in many states and countries. But for those who need it to relieve pain or as a treatment for other medical conditions such as cancer or epilepsy, the only way to get it legally might be through a doctor’s prescription.

How can you find out if your doctor will prescribe marijuana? And how do you go about getting a medical marijuana card in the state of Missouri? Read on to find out!

Missouri Qualifying Conditions

In order to qualify for a Missouri medical marijuana card, you must be dealing with one of the official qualifying conditions spelled out by the state government.

The list of qualifying conditions is always expanding, but here is where it stands now:

  • Cancer
  • Terminal illness
  • Epilepsy
  • Glaucoma
  • Intractable migraines
  • Chronic medical condition(s) with severe and persistent pain or muscle spasms, including but not limited to multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Tourette’s Syndrome, or seizures
  • Debilitating psychiatric disorder(s), including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Cachexia
  • Chronic medical condition(s) usually treated with prescription medication(s) that involve the risk of physical and/or psychological dependence
  • Any other source(s) of chronic pain or any other debilitating medical condition(s) a physician would deem suitable for medical marijuana treatment, including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s Disease, autism, neuropathies, sickle cell anemia, or wasting syndrome

Age & Residency

To be eligible for a Missouri medical marijuana card, you must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the state of Missouri.

Medical Documentation

In order to get a medical marijuana card in Missouri, you must provide medical documentation from a physician. This documentation must state that you have a qualifying condition and that marijuana is an effective treatment for that condition.

Get Evaluated

If you're interested in getting a medical marijuana card in Missouri, the first step is to get evaluated by a doctor. The doctor will evaluate your condition and determine if you could benefit from using medical marijuana. If the doctor thinks that marijuana could help improve your health, they will provide you with a recommendation for medical marijuana.

You can book a virtual appointment so that you can undergo this evaluation at your own convenience.

The doctor will either provide you with a letter of recommendation for medical marijuana or recommend that you seek out your own certification. If they suggest the latter, you can attend a legal medical marijuana convention in Missouri where healthcare professionals who specialize in medical marijuana can evaluate you and provide you with the documentation necessary to get your card.
