Judgment-Free Cannabis Doctor Evaluations

Icon

It is our mission to advocate for medical cannabis patients and to assist prospective applicants in navigating the registration process in their respective states. We offer our services to residents of multiple states applying for medical marijuana programs, including Missouri.

Arkansas has authorized the use of telemedicine to certify patients for medical marijuana cards. At the Sanctuary, our staff members are available to schedule a virtual appointment for you with one of our doctors. You do not need to have a prior doctor's evaluation to meet with our licensed physicians.

During your appointment, your doctor will evaluate your condition and determine if you meet the state’s requirements for medical marijuana use. If your physician believes you would benefit from marijuana use, they will submit a certificate to the Pennsylvania DHSS as soon as possible. Once your information is in the system, you can continue the application process on the DHSS website.

Simply call us at 484-346-5140 to arrange a virtual meeting with a physician.

Medical marijuana is a safe and effective option for patients who suffer from chronic pain, seizures, muscle spasms, cancer-related symptoms, anxiety disorders or other chronic medical conditions

The use of medical marijuana dates back to ancient China where it was used as an herbal medicine called "ma". Cannabis therapy is often used when conventional therapies are ineffective, not tolerated or otherwise inappropriate.

A medical marijuana card can grant you access to legal marijuana for medicinal purposes. Read on to find out how you can obtain one in Missouri.

Missouri Qualifying Conditions

Missouri’s medical marijuana laws are fairly restrictive, only allowing the use of cannabis for a few dozen qualifying conditions. Still, Missouri’s qualifying conditions list is very similar to the conditions that are on the qualifying condition lists of other states that have legalized medical marijuana.

The list includes some fairly common diagnoses such as:

  • Cancer
  • Terminal illness
  • Epilepsy
  • Glaucoma
  • Intractable migraines
  • Chronic medical condition(s) with severe and persistent pain or muscle spasms, including but not limited to multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Tourette’s Syndrome, or seizures
  • Debilitating psychiatric disorder(s), including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
  • Alzheimer's Disease
  • Cachexia
  • Chronic medical condition(s) usually treated with prescription medication(s) that involve the risk of physical and/or psychological dependence
  • Any other source(s) of chronic pain or any other debilitating medical condition(s) a physician would deem suitable for medical marijuana treatment, including Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s Disease, autism, neuropathies, sickle cell anemia, or wasting syndrome

Age & Residency

In order to qualify for a Missouri medical marijuana card, you must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the state of Missouri.

Medical Documentation

You need a signed written recommendation from a licensed physician in order to qualify for a Medical Marijuana Card. This document must say that the individual needs medical cannabis because they're suffering from one or more of the state's official qualifying conditions.

Get Evaluated

The process of getting evaluated for a Missouri medical marijuana card is very simple. All you need to do is book a virtual appointment with one of the many licensed physicians in the state and let them know that you are interested in obtaining a medical marijuana card. The physician will then perform a brief evaluation to determine if you meet the eligibility requirements for a medical marijuana card.

If you are found to be eligible, the physician will provide you with a recommendation that you can use to apply for a Missouri medical marijuana card. You will then need to submit an application and payment to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, and once your application is approved, you will receive your medical marijuana card.
