You will need to renew you card certification annually to remain valid. Sixty days before your card’s expiration, you will receive an email from the state letting you know it’s time to renew.
Book online or call us at (484) 346-5140 to schedule an appointment and log in to your patient profile and update your information.
Meet with our doctor online. They will submit your certification to the PA Department of Health.
You’ll receive a confirmation email listing next steps, which include registering with the state and paying a $50 registration fee. Your card is mailed to your residence.

Pennsylvania recognizes 24 serious medical conditions. An approved practitioner can issue a patient certification only if the patient has one of the serious medical conditions listed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The Department has also approved two conditions as a "serious medical condition limited to Chapter 20 research purposes only" under the act:

Yes. Patients registering for Pennsylvania's Medical Marijuana Program are not required to complete a background check. However, all caregivers must complete a background check, and any criminal record will be reviewed before approval. You cannot be approved as a caregiver if you have been convicted of a criminal offense relating to the sale or possession of drugs, narcotics, or controlled substances within the last five years.
Any qualifying minor can use medical cannabis as long as a registered caregiver purchases it on their behalf.

To renew your PA medical marijuana card, obtain a new patient certification from a registered practitioner. You must also keep your annual payment up to date. Once you are certified and your annual payment is current, your new card will be printed and mailed to you.
