Visit a certified cannabis doctor who can confirm you have a qualifying condition

The Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program (OMMCP) requires that you establish and maintain a bona fide relationship with your cannabis doctor prior to applying for the program. This means you will have to see your physician in-person at least once per year.

Register through the OMMCP Patient & Caregiver Registry

After your medical marijuana doctor confirms you have a qualifying condition, they will enter you into the OMMCP Patient Registry. You will then need to complete your application, pay a $50 fee, and wait for your application to process.

About Medical Marijuana

Medical Marijuana in Ohio

Medical marijuana has been legal in Ohio since September 2016, thanks to House Bill 523. HB 523 established the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program, which provides access to medical cannabis for patients who have a qualifying condition. The program encountered issues regarding marijuana shortages and retail location delays, but now provides access to medical marijuana for patients across the state.
