The first step toward obtaining a Pennsylvania medical marijuana card is to register online. You will need to register before you attend your evaluation because your physician will need your patient ID number to submit your certification. When you register, you will need to submit your driver's license or ID card as proof of Pennsylvania residency. Make sure that the address on your driver's license or ID card is current, and when the system provides your patient ID number, save it for your records.
Next, you will need to receive certification for a medical marijuana card from a doctor who has been certified with the PA Department of Health. For your convenience, you can schedule a telehealth appointment with one of The Sanctuary’s medical marijuana doctors. Your meeting will be brief, in which you will spend 10 to 15 minutes discussing your health concerns and any questions you might have regarding the use of medical marijuana. If your doctor decides that you qualify, they will give your certification that same day.
Following your doctor's certification, the Pennsylvania Department of Health will send you an email with further instructions. You must log in to the account you used to register and pay a $50 fee to the DOH. The DOH will mail your medical cannabis card to the address on your driver's license or ID card after you pay the fee. After completing the registration process, you should obtain your cannabis card within 14 days.
