How to Get Your New Jersey Medical Marijuana Card

step 1

Call the Sanctuary to schedule a visit with a certified marijuana doctor

Our knowledgeable staff members are available to answer your questions about applying for a medical marijuana card in New Jersey. We’ll book your appointment with a certified marijuana doctor so you can obtain the documentation you need to apply for your cannabis card.

step 2

Meet and obtain certification from a MMP-registered cannabis doctor

New Jersey has strict rules regarding physician’s evaluations for medical marijuana. The Sanctuary will connect you with a cannabis doctor you can build this required relationship with.

step 3

Register and submit a marijuana card application to the New Jersey DOH

Next, you will need to complete an application through the MMP registry. You will need to provide proof of residency, your physician certification, and other pieces of documentation. You will need to renew your I.D. every year.

Nevada Medical Marijuana Card Requirements

Age and Residency

You must be at least 18 years of age to qualify for a medical marijuana card. Minors can apply to Nevada’s registry with an adult as their designated primary caregiver. You must contact the registry directly at 775-687-7594 to enroll a child.

Applicants must also be Nevada residents and prove their eligibility by scanning and uploading a copy of their driver’s license or state-issued ID card. The state requires applicants to submit the front and back of their IDs.

Medical Documentation

To apply to join the Nevada medical marijuana program, you must obtain a written certificate for medical marijuana from a licensed physician practicing in the state of Nevada. Providing your doctor with comprehensive medical records and a detailed patient history will help the provider assess your case and issue your certificate.

Be sure not to alter the form once the doctor provides it. You will scan and upload the document as part of your online application.

New Jersey Medical Marijuana Card Conditions

New Jersey was the 14th U.S. state to legalize medical marijuana through the passage of the New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act (CUMMA) in 2010. Stalled by Gov. Chris Christie and reopened in 2012, New Jersey’s Medical Marijuana Program (MMP) allows registered physicians to evaluate and certify their patients’ needs for medical cannabis, provided they have one of the predefined qualifying conditions. You can purchase medical marijuana at any of the Alternative Treatment Centers legally operating within the state.
