Participants in our teleHealth medical weight loss program use compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide injections, which suppress appetite and cravings to generate weight loss. Most people who receive these injections lose a significant amount of weight over several months.
Semaglutide is used in Ozempic and Wegovy, whereas Tirzepatide is the active ingredient in weight loss drugs like Mounjaro and Zepbound. The FDA has approved both of these medications, as well as the compounding pharmacy with whom we work.
You will meet with one our doctors via video telehealth and recieve your medication shipped to your home. Our program also includes ongoing physician supervision and care team support.

Semaglutide is a member of the class of drugs known as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists. These medications mimic the appetite-suppressing and digestion-slowing effects of the GLP-1 hormone.
Semaglutide, which is FDA-approved, is used in Wegovy* and Ozempic*. Strict clinical trials have been conducted to verify its efficacy and safety. Practitioners have less experience using other weight loss drugs to assist patients in losing weight, and those drugs don’t have the successful track record semaglutide does, either.
For people who want to lose weight, semaglutide is an effective long-term option.
Compounded semaglutide is a medication prescribed for a specific patient and produced in a compounding facility licensed by the FDA or a state board of pharmacy. Compounded medications have to be tested for potency, sterility, and purity and must contain ingredients from suppliers with FDA approval.
Compounded medications do not need FDA premarket approval because they are not manufactured in bulk for the general public. Instead, they are produced in response to specific directives from medical professionals. Because of this, the dosages and modes of administration of these medications may not be the same as those of commercial brand-name drugs.
Semaglutide is self-injected subcutaneously once a week. By imitating the hormones that naturally interact with your digestive system and dampening feelings of hunger, semaglutide functions as an appetite suppressant.
By slowing digestion and delaying gastric emptying, semaglutide helps patients consume fewer calories. When you use the medication, you feel fuller for longer and have less of an appetite because food passes through your stomach more slowly.
Semaglutide also acts on the part of the brain responsible for controlling cravings and appetite. This enables you to cut back on the frequency and size of your meals even more.
Medical weight loss is a comprehensive, doctor-directed strategy for helping people reach and stay at a healthy weight. It entails a customized plan that can include dietary changes, physical activity, behavioral adjustments, and, if needed, prescription drugs like semaglutide. This method not only assists patients in losing weight, but also gives them the skills and information they need to avoid gaining it back.
The prescribed dosage, your location, and whether your health insurance covers the medication are some of the variables that can affect the cost of semaglutide injections. Without insurance, you should budget about $800 to $1,000 a month.
In general, semaglutide injections are at least partially covered by Medicare plans and many health insurance companies, which may lower your out-of-pocket costs. Additionally, Novo Nordisk provides a patient assistance program for those struggling financially.
At the Sanctuary, we provide semaglutide injections at our weight loss clinic in Fort Myers, Florida. To allow for self-administration, we give our patients the choice of having their medication delivered or picked up in person.
You can do everything online when you get your semaglutide prescription through the Sanctuary. You won't have to leave the comforts of your home to take part in our program because our patients can conveniently schedule and attend appointments online and get their medication delivered.
How long it takes to lose weight while taking semaglutide varies greatly from person to person. Clinical research, however, indicates that appreciable weight loss generally starts during the first few weeks of taking the drug. Semaglutide is not a miracle drug. Rather, it should be used in conjunction with a healthy diet and frequent exercise.
According to recent studies, over the course of a six-month semaglutide treatment plan, patients typically lose 10% to 15% of their body weight. The precise amount, however, can differ from person to person and is determined by things like their starting body weight, nutrition, exercise level, and length of treatment. Individuals who start out heavier typically lose more weight.
A balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins and regular physical activity are recommended to optimize your weight loss while taking semaglutide.
Your consultation will be similar to an ordinary office visit. Your medical history will be reviewed, and the doctor will inquire about your weight loss objectives. By being transparent and truthful, you can give them the data they need to determine your eligibility, eliminate any contraindications, and establish reasonable goals.
The rate of weight loss from semaglutide injections varies from patient to patient and is influenced by lifestyle choices and how the patient responds to the drug. After receiving a semaglutide injection, some people may begin to lose weight within a few weeks, but most patients don't see results for several months.
Because they can adjust your dosage as necessary throughout your treatment, working with a doctor will help you lose weight at a steady, healthy rate.
Medical weight loss programs have been shown to be successful for a large number of people who are overweight. They rely on a proven methodology for losing weight that goes beyond a simple diet and exercise regimen. FDA-approved drugs like semaglutide, which promote safe and steady weight loss, are a mainstay of many medical weight loss programs.
Semaglutide injections have side effects just like any other medication. The most typical ones include stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and constipation. Once your body becomes accustomed to the medication, these symptoms usually subside. Still, before taking semaglutide, it’s important to speak with a healthcare provider. You should also report any severe or enduring side effects to them as you begin your treatment.
